I’m Liam Virgo, and I’ve lived with severe Functional Neurological Disorder since I was 13. In 2016, my life took an unexpected turn when I lost my ability to walk and talk within days. Three years of being bedridden followed, feeling trapped in my own body. But with support, hope, and determination, I’ve slowly regained some abilities and I’m learning to walk again.
I’m passionate about raising awareness about FND. Despite the challenges I’ve faced I’m determined to live life to the fullest and not let my condition hold me back. My next dream is to visit Cyprus. I found that my dreams have played a role in my rehabilitation, as this has given me motivation. When I was well enough, I achieved my wish to visit London and meet the cast of the ITV show Loose Women. Video messages of support from some of my favourite celebrities have helped to give me a boost on my difficult days. I’ve achieved other goals recently, such as visiting 100 towns and cities across the UK and appearing on podcasts, TV, and radio.
