Nina works as a senior consultant at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark, where she teaches and supervises her colleagues in family collaboration, narrative therapy, and family therapy. As of March 2022, Nina is also the chairperson of the Danish Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Nina established The Family Therapy unit in 2009, the first unit to combine Narrative Therapy and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This unit’s team members developed and implemented a guide for their treatment, which they named Collaborative Family Therapy.

Through her research and work Nina has shown how this approach truly empowers families being treated at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Nina was awarded the child and adolescent trainees honouree prize for advancing teaching environment in Denmark in 2018 and 2022.
