A stitch in time – and in the moment
Knitting is calming, knitting is nurturing, knitting is good!
Yay, I’ve knitted my first-ever cowl, a gift for my daughter – just had to try it on soon as I finished it while watching the Footy Show tonight.
My paternal grandmother, who I loved very much, taught me to knit when I was a little girl – she must have had great patience as I am a left-hander.
Amazingly, the skill has stayed with me; this winter, after decades of not knitting a stitch, I got the urge to start clicking again.
Grandma, if by some miracle, the Internet does the rounds in Heaven, this pic is for you:-)
PS: Soon I will teach my little grand daughters to knit, too. There is something special about knitting – knitting is calming, knitting is about living in the moment, knitting is good!
