After 18 months of planning, here I am in the Qantas Club lounge at Melbourne Airport. In one hour I will be in the air on the way to London, via Dubai.

Ginger Cat, age 15, figures he can take a nap, now that his travel arrangements are all in hand (paw).

During the next seven weeks I will meet many people, in the UK, USA and Canada. The purpose of this trip is to talk to people who have ‘inside’ information about eating disorders.  I will talk with mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, and young adults who have experienced anorexia nervosa.

I will also meet wonderful researchers, including Professor Ivan Eisler, at King’s College. I am writing a book with Prof. Eisler about multi-family-based-therapy.

Our book will be called ‘My Family is Back’.

It follows on from My Kid is Back.

While in the USA, I also will attend the NEDA conference in Washington DC.

I look forward to sharing this writer’s ‘trip of a lifetime’ with you.
