Jane Rowan is the first Executive Director of Eating Disorders Families Australia and joined the organisation in October 2022. A former journalist and marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement leader, Jane and her eldest daughter, Charley, have always been deliberately open about Charley’s diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa and the effect it had on the family. She welcomed the chance to join EDFA as an opportunity to use her own experience to support, educate and advocate for all eating disorder carers.

Jane has a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Harvard Business School Online. She has previously worked for several private healthcare companies, including Addiction Sciences Qld where she established a face-to-face support group for carers of those living with substance dependency.
