Shannon Cutts is first and foremost a parrot, tortoise, and box turtle mama. She is also the proud and doting auntie to a standard wirehaired dachshund named Flash Gordon.

To date, Shannon has released three books. Her first book, Beating Ana: How to Outsmart Your Eating Disorder and Take Your Life Back, formed the foundation for MentorCONNECT, the first global eating disorders mentoring nonprofit community. Together, the book and community have been able to make a lasting impact in the field of mental health and eating disorders recovery.

Her second book, Love & Feathers: What a Palm-Sized Parrot Has Taught Me About Life, Love, and Healthy Self-Esteem, was a spin-off from her popular blog by the same name. Her third book, Waffles & More: A Love & Feathers Recipe Book, was written in response to “Love & Feathers” reader requests.

Love & Feathers & Shells, Shannon’s blog, features the adventures of her beloved flock: Pearl, a very masculine and manly whiteface split-to-pied cockatiel, Malti, a juvenile red-footed tortoise, and Bruce, a rescued adult Texas 3-toed box turtle. See this site also for links to Shannon’s books.
